Picking

We accept applications for work in response to adverts but also we are happy to receive speculative applications as many staff stay for 12-month contracts and so opportunities to join the team occur frequently.If you wish to apply for work please complete our on line application form as fully as possible and submit it to us for consideration. Typically, the roles which are most frequently available are:

Mushroom Picker
Mushroom Pickers work in small teams of up to six people. Work is carried out in growing rooms with a temperature of 18º centigrade and with plenty of fresh air and light. Rooms are modern and equipment is designed to make work as easy as possible.

Mushroom picking is skilled work and training takes place on a one to one basis with a team trainer during the first four weeks. Skilled mushroom pickers are the highest earners on the farm because once minimum target speed is reached a picker has access to the picking pay scheme and bonus payments.

Key skills for this role are enthusiasm, deftness of hand, good eye and hand co-ordination and plenty of energy.
